Gentle taskmasters

Milka and Gila keep a close watch of the excavations of Area T-1 at Tell el-Qadi (biblical Dan). The wall on the right of the frame represents part of an "Assyrian structure" that emerged in the 1989 season immediately to the west of the "High Place" (Area T).

I don't remember that smoking was allowed in the excavation areas in those days. Apparently the word didn't filter down to one Druze workman in the background. Let's hope no samples were drawn from here for radiocarbon analysis!
