Uniting the façade

The façade of the Church of the Annunciation (Al-Bishara Church) in Beit Jala, Palestine, suggests architectural evolution. The complex has certainly grown since the 1850s when it was established as a place of Christian worship with Ottoman permission. The golden hues of Cenomanian-era limestone unite the different phases of construction as does the Christmas decor.
