I am not a guide. I am an educator.

How others see me

I am often called Khouri in Arabic speaking contexts, even though I am not a "priest." I do pastor within the faith community of the evangelical movement.

In 2014 I received the appointment of Professor of Old Testament at Johnson University after more than 20 years of service at Cincinnati Christian University. In January of 2018 I will begin in a new role at Johnson as Dean of the School of Bible and Theology.

Concurrently, I serve as an Adjunct Professor with the Jerusalem Center of Biblical Studies, Jerusalem. I teach in Israel-Palestine under their auspices.

I have degrees from Ozark Christian College (BBL), Cincinnati Christian University (MA), Hebrew Union College (MA), and Andrews University (PhD). My dissertation focused on the collection of Early Bronze Age ceramics excavated from the site of Tell Taannek, Palestine.
