What are the Great Pyramids of Giza made of? While many people focus on how ancient engineers moved the stones, another fascinating angle tackles the geology of the Giza Plateau. This video reveals how these ancient tombs were actually built out of limestone fossils from an ancient ocean floor. We note the Nummulite fossils trapped inside the pyramid blocks, explore why the builders chose the Mokattam Formation bedrock, and observe the Sphinx erosion patterns that serve as an ancient weather map.
