Rhodes is a rugged island in the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of SW Turkey. It is the perfect place to drive this white Defender with the long wheel base and a double cab (D110). Finding one of these is a rare bird as the Rover folks built ‘em specifically for commercial/utility use (note the wee little bed in back). Consequently, of the few that were built, most were run into the ground.
I was snared by this classic beauty and it almost made me miss the bus as I made my way on foot from the site of Lindos back to the highway.
