Super Drumsticks
Did you know that an ostrich can sprint at speeds beyond 40 miles an hour and can kill a cheetah with just one kick. On the end of each foot are two toes, armed with sharp 4-inch claws.
I photographed this male in the Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.
Our 2026 African safaris are full, but will be opening seats for 2027 soon. Stay tuned.
Very Good
"God eyed all that he had made and (just look!) it was very good" (Gen 1:31). Everyday is Earth Day for those who take this statement seriously. Believers have reason to be the greenest people on the planet.
Come to Tanzania. See the goodness and consider creation care with new eyes. Find details in the comments below.

Georgios G
The wreck of the Georgios G.
This ship was built in England after the end of the Second World War. It was stranded on corals off the Saudi coast in 1978 while carrying a cargo of flour. When technicians tried to restart its engines the ship caught fire. The flames lasted several days during which time everything was destroyed but its metal parts. Today this wreck is visited by the curious who drive the coast of NW Saudi Arabia.

Mycenae's Lion Gate

My go-to in Athens
O Thanasis is an eatery on a corner of Monastiraki Square. It boasts a short menu of authentic Greek dishes. It also claims to be the oldest restaurant in Athens.
It is my go-to when visiting, and from the looks of the crowd, an opinion shared by many.
Gyros, souvlakis, kebabs, salad . . . they have it all . . . and at good street prices.
Still my beating heart.
Irresistible music
